We need your help!
A group dedicated to the care and well-being of animals stood at a crossroad in April 2026 that would shape the future of countless animals. This group of staffers had spent a great period caring for animals at Barn Hill Preserve and later Magnolia Wilds. Sanctuary Hill was born from a bond with the animals that ran deeper than a job description – it was a calling!
Today, we are asking for your help to support their home.
The Transformation of Sanctuary Hill
We have formed a nonprofit organization called Sanctuary Hill, created with a mission of ethical animal care, wildlife rehabilitation, and community education.
• Approved by the State of Louisiana
• 501(c)(3) application filed and approved
• A board established with trusted community members, educators, local leaders, and animal care professionals committed to transparency and long‑term stability
Our goal is to provide a sanctuary rooted in compassion, and community support — a place where animals can continue to receive the care they deserve and where families can learn, connect, and grow.
Why We Need Help
The park’s founder expressed interest in stepping away from Magnolia Wilds and the employees made a bold and determined proposal: they would form a non-profit organization to purchase the land, accept the donation of the animal residents, and transition the facility to an animal sanctuary.
This land is the only home these animals have ever known. Uprooting them would cause fear, stress, and trauma. Keeping them here means keeping them safe.
We want to make a start fresh — but we cannot do it alone.
What Your Support Makes Possible
Your donation will help us:
• Support the property so the animals can remain in their lifelong home
• Continue providing daily care without interruption
• Build a licensed wildlife rehabilitation center for native Louisiana species
• Offer safe, permanent housing for non‑releasable animals
• Create educational programs for families, schools, and the community
Other Ways to Help
If you cannot donate financially, we are also in need of:
• Building materials
• Gravel, rock, or sand
• Newspaper
• Cleaning supplies
• Produce
• Meat
• Volunteers for daily care and habitat work
Every contribution — big or small — makes a real difference.
From the Bottom of Our Hearts
We have put blood, sweat, and more tears than we can count into caring for these animals. We are fighting to give them a future filled with compassion and quality facilities.
We are seeking financial assistance — whether through a loan, grant opportunities, or donations — to help us so we can continue caring for the animals and serving our community without interruption. Our vision is to continue offering a stable, and community‑supported sanctuary that provides long‑term care for native and small exotic animals.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read our story and for supporting Sanctuary Hill in any way you can. Your kindness helps us protect the animals who cannot speak for themselves.
